While three members of the Class of 2003 practiced Saturday for tonight's NBA All-Star Game, Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony was relaxing in Las Vegas.

Cleveland forward LeBron James, Miami guard Dwyane Wade and Toronto forward Chris Bosh are Eastern Conference all-stars this weekend. But in a Western Conference deep in forwards, Anthony wasn't selected as a reserve despite being one of the NBA's top scorers.

NBA commissioner David Stern said he was disappointed Anthony wasn't an all-star.

"It's a casualty of the system with too many players and too few spots. That's all," Stern said Saturday. "I was disappointed personally. I think he's having a great year. The system just works the way it does."

Memphis forward Hakim Warrick tried to get Anthony to assist him during Saturday's dunk contest. But Anthony declined his former Syracuse teammate's request after he didn't make the West's all-star team.

"I know he's disappointed," Warrick said. "I'm disappointed as well that he didn't make it, but things like that happen. I know what type of person he is, and that's just going to fuel him to go out there to work hard to make it next year."
